Vaccinations

At Oakhurst Pediatrics, we believe that vaccines are a safe, effective, and essential way to protect your children and our community from serious and potentially life-threatening illnesses.

We believe that children should be vaccinated according to the schedule outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and the American Academy of Pediatrics. This schedule is the result of years of scientific research, testing, and safety monitoring. The majority of immunizations are given to children in infancy because it is precisely during this period that children are most vulnerable to serious illnesses.

  • Oakhurst Pediatrics believes that vaccines are a safe, effective, and essential way to protect your children and our community from serious and potentially life-threatening illnesses
  • We follow the schedule outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and the American Academy of Pediatrics

Because immunizations are so highly effective, many serious diseases are no longer considered a real threat to children in this country. However, as more and more parents choose not to immunize their children, the incidence of many of these diseases are on the rise. As diseases reemerge vulnerable populations, such as newborns and those with autoimmune and other health issues are placed at direct risk by children who are not immunized. We feel that the best way to protect your children and our communities is to immunize healthy children completely and on schedule.
